Historical Society Museum Built in the Old Jail House
Built in 1926, the old County Hall of Records in Crescent City had a section of the building that served as a County Jail for almost forty years until the building was remodeled in 1965 and thereafter it was used as a Museum by the Historical Society. The historical museum has an entire room devoted to the local Tolowa and Yurok Native American tribes that lived in the region of Crescent City for centuries before the Europeans arrived in California.
